My New Babies
I knew that squirrel was pregnant! Now I have these two little critters to keep me entertained. I’ll never get the ironing done now!

Cute little things. I have a bunch of new ones here too. Several of them have strange-looking tails: they’re a golden color.

Hi Bill, I’m surprised at the colours of my visitors too! Their tails are quite bushy and their coats looks so neat!
July 4, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Aw, Daffy, they are adorable. Forget the ironing. Pressed clothes are overrated anyway, right?
July 5, 2009 at 6:19 am
Nikki – Ironing will not keep me from my cute critters. I might hire someone to do it for me. My fave photograph is the one of the little one peeking around the tree trunk. “Hey! How did you get here before me!”

Enjoy the squirrels! I love the little things, all of them!
We have a crop of babies here too and mama regularly eats at our table with her full, cute little teats!
July 5, 2009 at 6:17 am
Jenny these two are lovely although I haven’t seen mum for a couple of days. Although these are grey squirrels one of them is noticably redder. They are funny too, ambitious, yet still a little unsteady!

Once again, I am picturing you in your princess gown twirling through your garden of animals singing a Disney tune
July 5, 2009 at 6:15 am
Laura – *sings* One day my prince will come….
Oh hang on a sec! He already has! ;o) I am so lucky. I still have two big rabbits that visit regularly too. Now I just need Henry hedgehog to come back and visit!
July 5, 2009 at 6:41 am
Awww…cute! Apparently baby squirrels are called kittens… Isn’t that silly and unimaginative? I think they should be called squigglets. If you want to see Henry (and Honey) Hedgehog, please check out Midmarsh Jottings. The link is on my site ~ he has a video camera set up…in the evening, they come around to feed. Have fun squigglet watching! Have you named your babies yet?
July 5, 2009 at 6:47 am
No Glo (That rhymes) but I should! You do one and I’ll do the other ok? I will check out the link… I had a Henry Hedgehog some years ago.. very cute and very greedy!
I agree with your squigglets but how about squiggles? (I do that in typo’s more often than not anyway!)
Hope you are well Glo… I had a quick look at your place this morning and it is colourful. I saw the motorbike… I have a motorbike related storry to share… when I get the chance!) Have agood Sunday.. after your sleep! xx

Hey, that’s great. Alway entertaining little critters.
July 7, 2009 at 9:26 pm
Not as good photos as you share but still cute!

How delightful, those squigglets will keep you entertained for hours! It’ll be fun to see what names Glo and you come up with for them!
Ironing…what’s that?
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! xx

Glo and I didn’t come up with names, we decided that Tracie had the best the names so it’s Lenny & Squiggy.
What’s ironing? I’m not really sure as I don’t do much! hehe
July 5, 2009 at 3:13 pm
I love the name squigglets and that’s what mine will be from here on in!!
July 5, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Looks like your having a squirrel party in your yard. They are very cute.
July 5, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Awwwww, babies! You should name them Lenny and Squiggy (from Laverne and Shirley).
July 5, 2009 at 5:47 pm
So cute!!
July 5, 2009 at 7:44 pm
I made the mistake of picking up one of these delightful creatures when I was a child. It bit me. How dare it bite me!!! Right through my finger. Then it died. How dare it die and make me feel ever worse.
As my mother had a neighbour drive us to the doctor we passed my father by the side of the road. He had just struck a little girl on a bicycle with the car.
It was not one of my mother’s best days.

How lovely! is it a red one or grey? or mixed race?!!
July 6, 2009 at 12:53 am
Those are wonderful pictures! I love to watch squirrels! Alex loves to chase them!
July 6, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Squirrels are always a delight to watch…they are so tenacious!
July 6, 2009 at 6:58 pm
Awe, aren’t they sweet? I love watching babies!
Anything at all to get me out of ironing, I sieze- lol. It’s my least favorite “chore” to do.
July 7, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Ironing, schmironing. Just spray on some wrinkle releaser and call it a day. The baby squirrels are way cute!
By the way, we watched Gran Torino Monday night with the last of our holiday houseguests – good movie! I’m glad I was sitting next to the tissues, though!
July 7, 2009 at 1:37 pm
Aww, cute!! Ironing can wait a bit, baby squirrels aren’t babies for long, so enjoy watching them!
July 7, 2009 at 8:46 pm
Holy crap! It’s an army of squirrels… I’m shaking in my wellies. So scary! But truly terribly cute
July 7, 2009 at 10:34 pm
I love that you can reply to comments! I wish we could do that with Blogger.
Anyhoo, cute little guys. Why don’t you get them to help you with the ironing. You know, like Snow White and Ella Enchanted.
July 8, 2009 at 11:57 am
I confess to liking squirrels, even the grey ones who breed like, well rabbits! I just hope they can continue to keep the greys away from the reds in certain areas though. I can’t see you having much bark left on that tree, once the babies have finished with it! x
July 10, 2009 at 6:09 am
Louise, that’s the problem isn’t it, the greys are taking over! My trees, especially the main food filed one are ina shocking condition. More so to do with the jackdaws that just will not leave the fatty balls alone!
.
Rene I’d like to try that out! I’m sure I could sing a suitable mushy song whilst they buzz around with the washing and ironing!
.
Seb so funny, you get maxinum points for making me laugh out loud early in the morning!
.
Tara, I like your thinking!
.
Dog_Geek Oh I know, it’s a weepy but it has some rather refreshingly funny bits too!
Ironing schmironing indeed!
.
B&T Mine too! By 100,000,000 miles! Things shouldn’t have to be ironed!
.
Connie they have me glued to the spot for ages! Leave me watching them and I will still be there when you come back!
.
Alex would have a field day over here then Nick!
.
CK Definitely a bit of both! One of them looks much more red than the other.
.
Philip that was what I would call a ‘crappy day’. I wouldn’t be wuick enough to pick up one of these little critters, although I have a feeling they will be flea-ridden too so I might pass on that one!
.
Thanks Hayden!
.
Tracie, Lenny & Squiggie it is, now for the rabbits….
.
Driver, I’m giving Steve a run for his money Driver although his photographic technique is way better than mine!
.
Jenny I’ve taken the term Squigglets and ran with it too! It’ll catch on I’m sure.
